Washington DC, Bethesda, Maryland and Fort Belvoir USA

4,000,000 ft² | 371,610 m² | 288 Beds

After two years of extensive planning, meticulous preparation and 3 large renovation moves, HCR completed the final complex move sequence from 3 facilities – Dewitt Community Hospital, Bethesda Naval Hospital & the existing WRAMC – to the new Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC) located on the Bethesda Campus and the New Fort Belvoir Community Hospital located in Fort Belvoir some 30 miles south of the Walter Reed Campus.

Health Care Relocations employed all their resources during this 26 day long final move which by the half way point entailed moving items, enough to fill the equivalent of 32 football fields.  Our project managers were put to the test on several occasions including an earthquake and the threat of Hurricane Irene which required some quick logistical manipulation to ensure a successful relocation into a total of 4,000,000 ft².
