Who packs up my office? Who unpacks?
You are responsible for packing and unpacking your smaller office contents such as books, binders, desk contents and other smaller items that can fit into the “Gondola” and/or Tote Bins provided by HCR.
When will I receive my packing materials & equipment?
HCR will deliver the equipment to your department 24-48 hours prior to your scheduled move date/time.
How are you going to move a whole hospital in such a short period of time?
The short answer – with your help. It is imperative that each department understands their role within the move process. It is critical that each department is organized and ready to move at the assigned time. This allows us to stay on schedule.
How much time do I have to unpack my items once they arrive at my new space/office?
24-48 hours following the move of your department, HCR will return to pick up the Tote Bins and Gondolas, and will cycle the equipment to the next department. If you neglect to unpack your items on time, this will have a negative impact on other departments and our efforts to stay on schedule.
I will be working in my office right up to the moment of my scheduled move time. How can I possibly be ready for when you arrive to move my office?
Our specialized moving equipment allows you to pack your office and continue working, by having easy access to approximately 90% of your office contents even after they have been packed.
Do I need to be in my office/space when you arrive to move me? Do I need to rush over to the new building when you’re done?
HCR works with your department manager to establish a designated “Sender” and “Receiver”. The designated “Sender” is present when HCR arrives, to assist in identifying the items being moved to the new facility. The designated “Receiver” needs to be present at the new facility to assist HCR with the correct placement of contents entering your new space.
What do I do with personal items, which do not belong to the facility?
Although we take great care in handling all items in our charge, HCR is not insured for damage to personal items – neither is your facility. We recommend you take personal items home with you prior to the move date and gradually bring the items to the new facility, space permitting.
Are there any items that HCR will not move as company policy, due to safety reasons?
Yes, items such as:
- Any and all Biohazards
- Medical Gas
- All equipment containing mercury
- All potentially harmful agents that may pose a risk to the facilities’ patients, staff, HCR personnel and/or the environment
- Additional items, which will be specified in your Move Guide
