The $68 million expansion to McLaren Macomb Hospital saw the construction of a new 6-story tower attached to the existing facility. The new Wayne and Joan Webber Emergency and Trauma Center occupies the ground floor, with the upper floors being left open for build-out in future phases.

The new Emergency and Trauma Center is more than double the size of the hospital’s previous emergency department, containing 68 treatment spaces, seven resuscitation rooms and specialized areas for pediatric, geriatric and behavioral health patients.

HCR was responsible for move planning and performing the physical relocation of all reuse assets moving from the existing Emergency Department into the new expansion, including medical equipment, non-medical equipment, IT devices, furniture and staff contents.

This internal relocation was completed over a single day in June 2020.
