Cone Health is a not-for-profit health care network serving people in Alamance, Forsyth, Guilford, Randolph, Rockingham and the surrounding counties of North Carolina. As one of the region’s largest and most comprehensive health networks, Cone Health has more than 100 locations, including five hospitals, five ambulatory care centers, three outpatient surgery centers, six urgent care centers, two retirement communities and more than 120 physician practices.
Cone Health’s $97 million Drawbridge MedCenter project saw the construction of a new 160,000 ft² facility to meet the needs of the growing and aging population of Guilford County. The facility offers a variety of wellness programs and integrates other health services including lab, pharmacy and imaging services. It offers a variety of medical services, including primary care, OB/GYN, sports medicine, heart and vascular care, cancer care and other specialties. It also houses an emergency department with 16 exam rooms and two observation beds to help reduce the wait times and volumes at the nearby The Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital and Wesley Long Hospital.
HCR was selected to provide IT Roll-Out and Dock Management services for the project. HCR was responsible for unpackaging, assembling and distributing various pieces of new IT equipment throughout the facility and performing asset tagging, cable management, basic testing and software installation for these items. This work was completed over a 1-week period in December 2021. HCR also worked closely with Cone Health project staff and all other vendors/installation contractors to manage and coordinate the just in time delivery and distribution of new furniture, medical equipment and fitness equipment required to outfit the new facility. This work was completed over a 90-day period between November 2021 and January 2022.
