FirstHealth of the Carolinas is a non-profit health care provider network with four hospitals in Pinehurst, Troy, Rockingham and Raeford, North Carolina.
The First Health Comprehensive Cancer Center Project involved the construction of a new 141,000 ft² / 13,100 m² Outpatient Cancer Center directly across the street from Moore Regional Hospital’s main campus, in Pinehurst. In addition to state-of-the-art treatment, the new facility also offers palliative care services, research and clinical trials, navigation and support services for patients and caregivers, nutrition services, a dedicated wellness center and an outdoor healing garden.
HCR provided Building Readiness Planning, On-Site Receiving and Installation of Owner Purchased/Owner Installed Equipment, IT Roll-Out, Asset Move Planning, Asset Relocation and Asset Consolidation services in support of the project.
HCR’s work began in January 2022 with building readiness planning, followed by the on-site receiving, assembly, and placement/installation of thousands of pieces of new furniture, medical equipment, IT equipment and other assets required to outfit the new facility. HCR continued to work closely with the project teams over the next year, developing detailed relocation plans and calendars in preparation for the move.
Once fully ready for occupancy in March of 2023, HCR returned and completed the physical relocation of all re-use assets that were safely moved from the existing Cancer Center Radiation & Oncology Clinic within Moore Regional Hospital, as well as the nearby Outpatient Cancer Center.
