The Ventura County Medical Center is a Regional Medical System with the hospital serving as the hub of a county-wide health care system. The hospital is also the primary safety-net hospital for Ventura County, and a teaching hospital with programs for family practice residency, nurses, and other health care professionals. The center was recently designated a Level 2 trauma facility, one of only two in the county.
HCR was contracted to provide relocation planning and move services for Ventura County Medical Center’s new 3-story, 232,000 Ft² replacement wing, which was constructed to replace existing seismically non-compliant buildings. The new wing supports numerous acute care medical services, all of which remained fully functional throughout this 3-phase project. HCR created a fully detailed move sequence based on patient needs and the functional logistics of each department involved in the transition. Construction delays caused the move to be delayed, and resulted in HCR having to re-prepare the entire deployment schedule. HCR overcame this set-back and in the end performed a successful physical relocation of all assets into the new wing. To conclude, HCR also provided consolidation services for all redundant assets.
