Stavanger, Norway
1,345,488 ft² | 125,000 m² | 560 Beds
Stavanger University Hospital (SUS) is one of Norway’s largest hospitals, employing more than 7,500 staff and serving as the central hospital for Rogaland County, with various other clinics and outpatient facilities extending from Hjelmeland in the north to Sokndal in the south.
The New SUS Project is one of Scandinavia’s largest healthcare construction initiatives ever undertaken. The first phase began in 2019 and added 1,345,488 ft² / 125,000 m² of new facilities at Ullandhaug. This new space allowed them to consolidate 560 24/7 somatic care beds, all emergency services, extensive outpatient functions, surgery, and a full suite of support services that were transitioned from various existing facilities in Våland.
HCR performed a Relocation Review in late 2021 and was subsequently selected to deliver comprehensive transition planning and physical relocation services for Phase 1 of the project, in collaboration with the Norwegian commercial moving firm First Mover Group (FMG).
