The expansion of Haldimand War Memorial Hospital’s Emergency Department was the largest acute care expansion in the county in the past 50 years. The new Emergency Department was constructed as an attached addition to the existing hospital, and more than doubled the department’s size from 2,500 ft² to 7,000 ft².
HCR provided Move Planning & Physical Relocation services for all existing Medical Equipment, Furniture, IT Equipment, Patient Records, and Administrative Records relocating from the existing hospital into the newly constructed Emergency Department addition.
HCR prepared a complete patient move plan in anticipation of the expected minimum patient census on move day, however, there were no patients to be admitted in the ER at the time of the move. The facility took comfort in knowing that should an emergency arise during the transition, a detailed plan was in place to ensure that full care would be available in the ER.
These relocations were completed over a single weekend in February 2019.
