Hvidovre Hospital, located near Copenhagen, helps to ensure health and quality of life for more than 500,000 citizens of the southern part of the Capital Region of Denmark, and is also a teaching hospital for medical students from Copenhagen University. With more than 40,000 patients admitted each year, the Hvidovre Hospital has the largest intake of acute patients in the country.

In 2012, construction began on a multi-year expansion project, that involved remodeling of both the ambulatory and bed sections of the existing hospital, as well as the construction of a new 344,445 ft² / 32,000 m² addition. This new space allowed the hospital to increase their bed capacity, providing an additional 250 single-bed patient rooms, 80 additional treatment rooms, as well as a new Joint Emergency Department, Heart Section, Endocrinological Bed Section, Children’s and Youth Section, and Maternity Section with closely integrated Neonatal Section.

HCR was selected to provide a variety of relocation consulting services in support of the project, including Planning Team Development Assistance, Facility Activation Planning, Asset Transfer Planning, Patient Transfer Planning and Physical Relocation Management services.
