For over two (2) years Health Care Relocations (HCR) worked closely with the Niagara Health System (NHS) to develop the move plan that would facilitate the opening of the new 374 bed St. Catherine’s General Hospital and Walker Family Cancer Center. HCR worked as the Transition Advisor planning, managing and coordinating the transition.
HCR provided complete planning, scheduling and execution of the physical relocations from four NHS legacy sites. The complex move included the complete relocation of two aging legacy sites, St. Catherine’s General Hospital and the Niagara Health System Ontario St. Site as well as the amalgamation of the Women’s and Children’s Programs, Mental Health Programs and Inpatient Nephrology from the Greater Niagara General Hospital and Welland Hospital Site.
HCR worked closely with stakeholders to develop a patient move plan that would allow all the patients to move on one day. Patient move day saw 213 patients move over 4 separate tracks from 3 legacy sites. The patient move started at 0700 hrs and was safely and successfully completed at 1300 hrs. HCR’s Integrated Healthcare Solutions Division provided clinical and operational consultancy and planning in support of the complicated patient relocation.
